4 days post op DaVinci hysterectomy tired and achey?

Hi all! I am four days post op from my DaVinci assisted hysterectomy. They were able to keep my left ovary and took my right and uterus. Recovery not too bad pain wise just really tired and feel like I can sleep all day! Now today it feels like I was hit by a truck super tired and just achey. Anyone else like this?

Re: 4 days post op DaVinci hysterectomy tired and achey?

I didn't have the same surgery, but this sounds about right. Your body is working very hard to heal and recover from major surgery; that takes a lot of energy. The best thing you can do is rest and walk a bit when you are up to the bathroom. Gradually you'll be able to walk more and rest a little less. I'm at 5.5 weeks, and I still need to lie down for an hour each day.

Hang in there. I know it's hard to be patient, but it's worth it in the long run.

Re: 4 days post op DaVinci hysterectomy tired and achey?

We had the same surgery date. I had three big cysts and they took my tubes, uterus and cervix. Yesterday was my bad day. I couldn't sleep and all the gassy pains were going through my belly. But for the most part I'm doing ok. I've just been relaxing and trying to get outside for walks. If I sit for awhile I get stiff when I get up but once I'm walking around I start to feel better.

I had the same removed via same procedure.
I'm 11days post op.
I think what you're feeling is normal. Do not try to do anything other than shuffle to the bathroom and back. sleep when you can. Take your meds as scheduled. Don't wait until the pain is screaming at you. By then you will be playing catch up.

Re: 4 days post op DaVinci hysterectomy tired and achey?

Hi Sisters,
I know you have heard this before but listen to your bodies. And rest with feet up and sleep as much as you can. You have a bit of a long haul in front of you and the more you rest now the sooner you will start feeling perkier. Don't forget to get up and walk just a little every hour that you are awake and drink lots of water. Eat what sounds good to you and as much fiber as you can. Prunes were great for me. I also drank orange juice and ate lots of fruit. Oatmeal was my comfort food of choice along with applesauce. Good luck healing and one day at a time.
Hugs,
Anndy

Everything everyone else said...

AND be sure and keep an eye on your temp. If you are having too many body aches you could be running a fever, and would definitely want to check in with the doctor about that.

But I am thinking day 4 about did me in after my daVinci. Just REST, REST, REST! I know it is easier said than done!
