Body Odor (related to sudden menopause)
Hi, friends. After having my hysterectomy/oopherectomy in April, I found that my body odor changed and increased. I'd use deodorant and still smell strongly musty after just a bit of exercise. At age 43, I was not happy with the "old lady" smell! I wanted to let you know that I've found two solutions. The first is body spray (I use Bath&Body) used every day as a general mist. Even my skin smells different now and the body spray helps. BUT the big news is Secret's new "Natural Mineral" line of antiperspirant, which doesn't just mask odor, but actually prevents it from occurring. I've used it for two days and it's downright miraculous! No more old lady here! I thought some of you might be having the same issues and might benefit from these two solutions. All the best.

Re: Body Odor (related to sudden menopause)
Thanks , I have noticed it with myself, ick! ( and I have only 1 yr on you, 44) I don't have a Bath & Body close (about 75 miles of so) BUT I will check out the Secret ..............I'd thought about using what I get for my DH, it's like a mineral (smooth) rock........ It lasts him 2 yrs or so, so the $8.00 price is no big deal and it works REALLY well for him
It's kinda a bummer, I would 'go without' and not have an 'odor' problem 'pre', now I find myself doing morning AND afternoon applications >.<

Tracerracer, if you're like me, just a morning application will now be enough! Do please let me know if you find the relief I have...

Re: Body Odor (related to sudden menopause)
Hi Fellow Sweaty Sisters, I have also found myself with the same sweaty challenge. I find that using antiperspirants with 19% aluminum zirconium trichlorohydrex (check the label, even "regular" formulas often have 19% now, doesn't have to be the pricey "clinical" strength). I'm interested in trying the new Secret recommended, as they reduced the AZT a few % and put the same natural ingredient in they use in Febreeze. Interesting!
I also have found that using a cleanser with triclosan (anti-bacterial) where your bra rests under and around your breasts helps tremendously. I had read somewhere that yeast can form there and give an unpleasant aroma. The triclosan kills the yeast, where regular soaps don't. I have very sensitive skin, so I use a face cleanser with triclosan. An anti-bacterial soap or the cleanser hospitals recommend presurgery would work too for less sensitive skin. (Just don't use triclosan all over, it can be drying and isn't recommended. Some germs are good for us.)
Here's to smelling fresh!

Re: Body Odor (related to sudden menopause)
Okay, good to know this increase is normal. I was about to make an appt. to get a prescription strength deodorant/antiperspirant. I've NEVER had a problem before. I'm gonna give Secret a try. I'm hoping it helps! Thanks for the tip! :-)

I also use the Vagisil Feminine Wash - Odor Block Protection. I seem to sweat more also and I use this every morning when I shower and it keeps me smelling fresh all day. I'm going to purchase the Secret's Natural Mineral deodorant for myself and my daughter. Thanks!

Re: Body Odor (related to sudden menopause)
I had davinci and they only removed my uterus. I am only 34, but I have been having hot flashes at night and increased body odor. Is this normal for someone who still has their ovaries? I will definitely be trying the secret!!! I'm so selfconcious about body odor that if I think someone could possibly smell me I tend to just stay away from people all together. Guess that's why everyone thinks I just don't want to be around people right now.
