LAVH Day 2 post op and I feel really good

Greetings Everyone,

I'm 2 days post op and I feel good. I have noticed that I've gained about 5 lbs : ( and I don't understand why. Has anyone else gained weight? Also I have only taken my pain meds once this morning. I feel good enough to get up and take a shower (Lord knows I need one, especially after my prune juice induced diarrhea). I may even allow my toddler to get in the shower with me, you know kill two birds with one stone.

Seritha, I am glad that you are feeling well. The weight gain is probably all the fluid that they pumped into you via your IV. Don't worry about it as it will come off.

Please don't take your toddler in the shower with you because if he or she slips, you will want to grab him or her and you will hurt yourself. Right now is the time to rest and look after yourself, not worry about what is going on with the rest of the household.

Eat well, drink lots of water, walk some and rest a lot. Pamper the princess!

Thank you for the reply, you are very helpful. I will take your advise and shower alone, because my mother instincts won't allow her to fall without intervening somehow (I didn't think of that till you mentioned it). I'll let my 12 year old daughter bath the little one.

I am glad that you are feeling well. Remember to be careful. Pain is so much less with the LAVH that sometimes it is hard to remember that you had a major surgery. A few days after my procedure I felt great, just a little tired-- my doctor and husband constantly had to remind me to take it easy because of the lack of pain I felt ready to take on the world.
