Re: 12 days post-op and heavy bleeding

Ct scan reports are ready in as little as 30 minutes if done in hospital. Someone needs to get more aggressive on your behalf. I would also request a wound culture of vaginal discharge. It will show if anytype of infection is there and it Will also do a sensitivity on it as to what to treat it with.

Re: 12 days post-op and heavy bleeding

I have been a nurse for over 20 years with 8 years in ob/gyn so I have some knowledge of hysterectomys. I sometimes think my gyn office dislikes me calling with a problem because I know my body and I know when something isn't right and I usually pinpoint it down to the exact problem. I called yesterday to let the nurse know rhat I needed another rx called in for my yeast infection that was not quite cured she told me to wait til Thursday when I came in for my 2 week follow up. I refuse a triage nurse telling me one thing when I know differently. So I called my doctor(whom must I say is awesome, she gives her patients her hospital cell phone number so she can be reached directly) and she agreed I shouldn't wait and she called it in. Moral of long story... When you know somethings not right make a ruckus!! So someone will hear you! Don't expect floor nurses to always go to bat for you. They may say one thing to you in the room and as soon as they walk out different story

Re: 12 days post-op and heavy bleeding

They keep asking a gyn doctor to come take a look as they cant' fiugre out what's wrong. CT only showed that my pneumonia is practically gone, and my crp still rising.

Re: 12 days post-op and heavy bleeding

Finally spoke to a gyn doctor. She says the bleeding is caused by the stiches loosening (as they are supposed to) and that's causing the bleeding.

Re: 12 days post-op and heavy bleeding

Have they done a PT/INR to see if the blood thinners are affecting you? If your blood is thick enough?

Re: 12 days post-op and heavy bleeding

No idea. Gyn doctor recommended a ct of my belly. But they've taken plenty of blood tests so I'm sure they have checked for the blood thinner as well.

Re: 12 days post-op and heavy bleeding

I am 11 days post-op with the same surgery as you Vimsen. I have very little bleeding vaginally so far, I only spotted for the first 3-4 days . I am not on any blood thinners though. I feel so bad for you I sure hope you get answers SOON. Take care.
