Having trouble urinating two days post hysterectomy

Hi there. This is my first post so bear with me I'm two days post op. It takes several minutes to empty my bladder. It's slow then a small gush then nothing, repeat. I'm usually on the Lou for 5 minutes or more. Anyone else have this problem? Should I call my doc?

First off welcome!!!!! And i had trouble with my bladder after OP, it took longer to void than normal. I wouldnt feel the urge until i was about to burst would run to bathroom (or well waddle fast lol) then would sit there and just have to wait lol. It seemed pretty ridiculous at the time! It has improved since. But UTI's are very common after this OP so if you have pain or feels like you are not emptying then dont hesitate to call your doc. The sooner you can find out the sooner they can treat it. I got a bladder infection at one week post op and it was painful.

You might want to try the blowing through the straw trick. You either blow through an actual straw or pretend to. If this doesn't help, please call your doctor.

Hi after surgery I could not pee I was in recovery for 5 hours finally they had to Cather me and after that I had to make sure I peed within 3 hours of going home... I drank water but didn't guzzle it and I finally went. Then the next two days it was slow too they say it's from the anesthesia so I would fill a cup of hot water and stick my hand in it while sitting on the toilet... Works wonders!!! Did that a few days and things got normal!! Try that it works! Good luck
