Upcoming hysterectomy 2/13: Making a "punny" tote bag

hi ladies!
If you've seen my posts you probably know that I'm on the younger end to be having a hysterectomy, 26. I'm extremely excited for this to happen, I have my moments of sadness and have leaned on you all to get me through it, thank you!

I've heard that the nurses tend to not know what to say to younger women who have this done. I've just taken up cross stitching to keep my mind occupied In the upcoming days. Someone mentioned last week that its nice to have a bag to keep by your bed with your things. So... I bought a tote bag and I'm cross stitching:

A picture of a uterus and below it says,
GONE...BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

I have made my family laugh so hard with this (that was my goal!) and I hope I make the nurses and my doctor laugh as well!!

Have any of you done something humorous to help with your feelings of having a hysterectomy?

I love it! It reminds me of my dad, he had half his leg amputated 2 years ago (below the knee) and he had done a line with scissors and written ''cut here'' and under his foot to be cut ''THIS one'' an under the other ''NOT this one''. LOL Made everyone laugh What else are you brining in your bag?

Dear Lizabelle,

It is wonderful you have a sense of humor
I truly believe that a sense of humor sometimes is the best relief for dealing with stress and things that are out of our control.

We all wish you an uneventful surgery and a good recovery.

Best of luck

OMG your dad is hilarious!!! What a fun man!
Let's see, I have a white and grey leopard robe, some awesome slippers, thank you cards for the nurses, two new pairs of Jammie's (I love to be in Jammie's and never felt comfy in the hospital gowns) cell phone & charger of course, a book and a blanky!

Re: Making a "punny" tote bag

Wishing you all the best.
I've found a sense of humour has definitely helped me.
My friends made me a boquet of flowers from tampons and pads. The nurses were to busy to take much notice but the cleaners got a chuckle out of them

Very funny. Laughter is the best medicine. Well may not immediately after surgery
