Lupron wear-off question! kinda freaking out!
I am in the wear-off stage of the Lupron (had it on 4/26, then added estradiol), and yeah the pain is coming back full-force. Ovulation this week was NO picnic. My question, though, is this: when I initially had the shot, I experienced some weird tightness in my chest, with labored breathing and what seemed like a more labored-beating heart. It waned after a day or so, but really scared me at the time. Now that the shot is gone and my hormones are flooding back (in addition to the add-back I only finished yesterday), I'm having the same heavy-chested feeling and it's FREAKING ME OUT. Is this a normal thing with Lupron wear-off? My hyst is scheduled for 9/3 for chronic pelvic pain (suspected adeno and pelvic congestion, history of large mucinous cystadenomas on ovaries), but since the Lupron is wearing off and the pain has flooded back, it seems to me that maybe my uterus or something in my belly is swelling and putting pressure on my heart and lungs? I don't know. I've never before had a heart problem, but my blood pressure has been rising a little over the last few years since my pregnancy and subsequent rise in pain (and painkillers, also). My father has coronary artery disease, so I suppose I am at a risk for such problems -- can the Lupron cause problems like this? Should I have it checked out before my surgery?
s and thanks in advance!!

Lupron
Mel, I had lupron injections for 6 months and I refer to it without fondness as the drug from Hell. I did have some breathing problems as well, but not to the degree you are. GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR. If he blows you off, go see another one. Everyone reacts differently to drugs and I have had some really weird and surprising side affects from several. Often breathing difficulties are from allergic reactions and this is also true with medications. I am 6 days Post Op from a radical H, and had to change my Clemara patch after 3 days because I was having breathing problems. You don't want to go into surgery unable to breathe normally or you'll end up with worse issues to face.
Best of luck with your surgery. I'm doing really well...recovery is so much easier than I thought it would be.

Lupron wear-off question! kinda freaking out!
I would give your doc a call and have it checked out.
About the time my Lupron was wearing off I had intense uterine cramps---and I didn't suffer from cramps before the Lupron. I was in terrible pelvic pain for about four days, then it cleared up. My hyst. was a few days later so that took care of that!
