Pain in lower right groin area

Hello ladies, I have a question for you. I went to the doctor Friday and got some pain meds because I have been hurting down low. It helped, but tonight I am really having some pain in my lower right groin. It hurts down to the top of my leg. Meds are helping some, not as much as I thought, though. I was almost afraid it might be my appendix, but my husband says it is too low. My surgery is not until September. My question is, should I just try and make it to September, or should I call the doctor again tomorrow and try to get in to see him? I'm not sure what he can for me at this point, other than the hysterectomy. I don't know why I always feel like I am bothering the doctor with frivolous stuff, when I am actually hurting. My mom says I am having some serious issues and should go in...maybe I am just so used to hurting, that it has become normal. Any suggestions, please!

Re: Pain in lower right groin area

I say call the doctor. Your pain may not be related to your upcoming surgery at all and may need to be addressed. The only reason I'm not worried about the constant but minor pains I get on my left side is because I'm sure it's the largest of my fibroids that's acting up. But it's all going tomorrow; otherwise, I would've asked my doctor to take a look. There's no need to suffer, and at the very least, you want to know what's going on. Being in pain isn't frivolous, and it's the doctor's job to help patients.

Thank you Happydee! I will be calling this morning. I am not hurting quite as bad this morning, but it is still there. Crazy, it seems to really flare up in the evening.
Just noticed that you are scheduled for your surgery tomorrow...good luck and prayers for a speedy recovery. I look forward to your updates from the other side!

Pain in lower right groin area

I know you already decided to call the Dr but I just wanted to second (or third) what the other sisters have said! I ended up in the ER twice in one week with lower abdominal pain. Turns out it was multiple fibroids but as the second ER attending told me "If you are in pain see a Doctor. If you are in extreme pain come to the ER. If you take pain meds and are still in extreme pain come back to the ER. Pain is the body's response to something wrong and there is no need to put extra stress on your body by enduring the pain."
