Re: Best Wishes to our December 29 Princesses
As you prepare to go to the hospital for your surgery, I wanted to send you and best wishes for your surgery and recovery.
I will be joining you in the Post Op Forum in the weekly Recovery Progress thread for those having surgery between Dec 28th-Jan 3rd. I will be there to offer you encouragement and support & to let you know that you are not alone in this journey. Look for it at the top of the Post-Op Forum after your surgery.
As you are preparing your “special place” for recovery, here are a few items that many have found helpful.
-- Gas X
-- Stool softener (your doctor may suggest a specific one)
-- Wipes (gentle, non-alcoholic – more soothing than tissue)
-- Heating pad (helps to ease the pain)
-- Pillow for tummy support (especially if you cough, sneeze, or laugh)
-- Note pad & Pen (to help you keep track of your meds)
It is normal to have questions and be nervous. I will be by your side each step of the way. Try to sit back and relax and have a little “you” time. (bubble bath, chatting with friends, go out for coffee , take in a movie) Make a list of those last minute things you want to get done and won’t be able to do after surgery: last minute cleaning, grocery shopping, making meals and freezing them, having a special time with you family and loved ones.
Here are a couple of links you may find helpful:
Remember this all important rule -- pamper the princess.
I will see you on the other side.

Re: Best Wishes to our December 29 Princesses
You all are very welcome. It is my pleasure to be here and walk this journey with you. I knew very little about recovery and HS was my life line during my recovery.
Please join us after you have surgery on your recovery thread. I found it so encouraging to be with those who had surgery the same time I did. We are here for you each step of the way.
Love to each of you.

Best Wishes to our December 29 Princesses
Thank you! Def a nerve racking night where my anxioty is getting the best of me. Just finished drinking the last of my bowel prep and it was honestly horrible. The first hour I couldn't stop vomiting but I honestly think it's nerves. I'm a little calmer now and got it down. Thk you for all the women on here who have offered helpful advice and support. I Really Appreciate it!

I am with you. My nerves are crazy. I guess I should be grateful I didn't have to do a bowel prep on top of it. Have to be at the hospital at noon tomorrow. Thinking of all of you who are going through this same thing. Really helps to know you are not alone.
