Vaginal pain- 5 days post hysterectomy

Hi everyone!
I had my davinci assisted hysterectomy last Thursday. I have been doing well, and taking my pain meds. My husband was waking me up at night for pain meds, but I decided to try and not wake up last night for them. I slept through the night fine, but woke up horribly sore. So I am back on the pain meds today as prescribed. I have been doing well today, but this evening I have gotten some horrible vaginal pain. It is similar to pain I used to have during my periods: some pressure, but also really bad sharp pain. There is a little bit of abdominal pain too. I just took a dose of pain meds, and it is taking the edge off, but I just want to know if this is common?
Had I not had surgery, I would be menstrating right now, and short of not actually bleeding, I feel like I am!

Its normal pain! I had my Davinci on Aug 8th & for the first week I experienced similar pain. Mine felt like labor contractions & it was very very uncomfortable. Take some pain killers, relax & let it pass. Take deep breaths. The pain is going to start to subside each passing day. If you feel really really uncomfortable call your Dr. Mine prescribed my some antibiotics cause I was in the beginning stages if a UTI. Get lots of sleep & take it easy. You will notice a change in a couple more days. Good luck & God Bless!!
