How long does it take for Lupron(Zoladex) to kick

Hello Ladies. Had my first Zoladex implant three weeks ago. This is in preparation for a vaginal hysterectomy due to a fibroid uterus. I have been in constant pain for months and the consultant said it should stop the pain. So far nothing has happened, still get pain over both overies and a 'long' pain on my right side !When will it kick in ?

I have had a period two weeks early and am now brown spotting all the time !

Another question....... if the pain doesn't stop and it is something else i.e. endo, will the surgeon see that if he does a vaginal hysterectomy ? I've got two weeks until my next appt when I'll know when he is planning the surgery and am full of questions !! How long after the last implant ( I'm having three ) will he leave before surgery ?

Sue

How long does it take for Lupron(Zoladex) to kick

It took about 3 or 4 weeks for my Lupron shot to kick in. I did have a period about a week after my shot and it was terrible. Since then I have had no periods. The hot flashes were terrible and lasted for about 3 weeks. I would imagine that the doc could see the endo if he/she uses a laproscope. Best of luck to you- you will find alot of info on here- Just look around!

How long does it take for Lupron(Zoladex) to kick

Hi SquidySue,

My surgery was 3 weeks to the day after the third injection. I had planned for it being 4 weeks but the doctor decided that 3 weeks was better as the fibroids grow back as soon as the injection starts to wear off.

How long does it take for Lupron(Zoladex) to kick

When I had my Lupron shot on 4/30/04 (a three month dose) I kept waiting for something to happen. A couple weeks later I had a very light period and then no more of that. At about 3 wks. I had my first mild hot flash, and I've had a few mild ones here and there, but nothing profound. I've really had no bad effects at all. My doctor did prescribe Aygestin as an "add-back therapy" to help counteract any bad effects from the Lupron.

How long does it take for Lupron(Zoladex) to kick

I had a 3-month Lupron shot on May 6, 2004 (Thursday) and began a period on Monday, which was really bad and lasted ten days.

About a week after that, the hot flashes kicked in so I knew the Lupron had taken effect. I have not had any more bleeding up to now and the dr. says I shouldn't have any more.

The hot flashes are pretty bad and come several times a day and through the night. I sometimes get pretty emotional, such as with PMS.

Good luck to you, hope your side effects are few.
