Slight spotting, 2 weeks post-op

From what I've read, slight spotting is normal, but I just want to check in and make sure.

For the first 1 1/2 weeks I had no discharge at all. Then, I had one day of light pink but only when I wiped. Then a day or two of nothing. Then, the next morning I had more discharge, this time a bright pink (not red) but it was leaky enough that I had to break out the panty liners. I know it was not caused by overdoing because the day before I was having horrible gas pains and spent most of that day in bed moaning like a baby.

So far, today, there has been no spotting. I wouldn't worry if the spotting had been ongoing, but I guess I'm just a little concerned because I went for 1 1/2 weeks with nothing and then it started out of the blue.

Welcome to "the other side" of the castle, Purplesnow!

I had something similiar - no spotting or anything until I had a 2 week post op exam - then I started it a few days later. So long as it is not bright red, I was told it is ok - BUT if you are in doubt or worried - call your dr's office. They won't mind - or shouldn't, as that is what they are there for - the patients.

Remember to and take it easy.

Slight spotting, 2 weeks post-op

I'm 3 weeks post-op and saw my doctor today for a follow-up appointment. I've also been having some sporadic spotting, and she said that it would go away eventually. She also noted that if I was more active, like when I return to the gym, it may trigger more spotting, but this was nothing to worry about. Her view for me was that if it's still going at 8 weeks post-op, then I should let her know. The interesting thing for me was that my increased activity could be triggering more spotting. Hopefully, it will all be over soon. Take care. If you're concerned, I'd check with your doctor.

Slight spotting, 2 weeks post-op

I started spotting yesterday, which was 2 weeks post-op. I'd had minor spotting the first 2 days, and then nothing, so this worried me. I called my doctor's office, and the nurse said not to worry -- that unless I was soaking through a pad or seeing clots, it was normal to spot, even after a period of no spotting, because my body is adjusting.

I had this, too. I had slight spotting for 1 or 2 days after the surgery and then nothing until about the 3 week mark. I assume I was losing some stitches then or something.

Thanks ladies. It's not bad at all. But it sure is nice to hear that others went through the same without any problems. That's why I love this site. It was definitely worth my Crown Jewel donation!

Slight spotting, 2 weeks post-op

Hey Ruth.
I have good days and not so good days. Two days ago was kind of bad. I had horrible gas pains. (that'll teach me to forget my Gas-X!) Yesterday was great. I was up and about and did a little craft shopping.

Today I was tired but still went out shopping, partly because I needed to get some stuff and partly because I wanted to force myself to walk around. I think I overdid it a little. I stopped by Lowe's hardware and got a couple small things then I had to wait in a long line (only one cashier). I was really tired by the time I left. We stopped at Carl's Jr (fast-food burger restaurant) for dinner and to give me a chance to rest. I was the tiniest bit sore, but not bad considering I'd not had any pain meds in 26 hours. But I still took two acetaminophen and was feeling much better by the time we left. Then, I decided to go to Target for some more Gas-X, vitamins, cordless shaver (for my son) and a few groceries. By the time we finished getting the stuff on our list, I was not only tired, but was started to have some deep-gut pains. Not bad, but enough to worry me.

How about you?

Today I'm doing ok. Did you read my thread about my ER visit?

So are you eating reg food pretty much now? I noticed you mentioned Carls Jr above. Are you off pain meds except for Tylenol?
