Sharp abdominal pain post-op

I had my abdominal hysterectomy 12 days ago. I have my ovaries, and it was a vertical incision. I am experiencing, sharp, lower, right, front abdominal pain. Feels sore to the touch, and near groin. I haven't had any pain but soreness since the surgery; now this. Is this normal?

I'm having the same pain and I asked my sister (who is a nurse and had a hysterectomy years ago) if that was normal. She said it was normal and will get better in time. If the pain gets much worse and doesn't respond to pain meds or have a fever then you should get to an ER to be checked out.
A painful bruised feeling and lumps/soreness under skin is a normal part of the healing process. I actually started feeling almost normal at 14 days post op and then suddenly all bruised and sore. I guess recovery will be a bit of a roller coaster ride and a day by day journey.

Thank You, Thank you, Thank you! I have a doctor appointment tomorrow afternoon and didn't want to rush to the ER tonight. Took the pain meds and have to sleep in my recliner tonight. Your input has been very helpful. This site is a wonderful blessing.
