Why so weepy after hysterectomy?

I am on day 9 post op. I kept both my ovaries which my doctor says both looked perfect.

I did read about ovaries going sleep after surgery. So are they asleep or awake and what is the crying at every turn? I mean I cry at commercials. I am not a cryer - never have been, even as a child.

I am just confused about my hormones. How long does it take on average for the hormones to even out?

Re: Why so weepy?

I kept one ovary and my Dr said it can take 3-4 months for hormones to even out. I just looked at my phone and burst into tears because I wanted to text my husband because I miss him lol it was a little over the top hahaha

Re: Why so weepy after hysterectomy?

Thanks Tammy! Wow, 3-4 months, guess I will just settle in for now with the hormones. This is something I didn't talk to my doctor about, we talked about me keeping both ovaries but didn't talk about the hormone roller coaster part.

Re: Why so weepy after hysterectomy?

I'm right there with you. I'm wondering if its all the stress built up prior to surgery as well.
Hugs to you.
