Hormones Gone Crazy?

Hi Mel!

I don't know how long it takes for Lupron to get out of your system, but I can tell you that on the advice of another sister, I started taking Soy capsules and drinking soy milk and it has helped with the nights sweats tremendously. I still get them but they are mild compared to what they were before the soy. It helps replace some of the estrogen loss. Give it a try.

Hormones gone crazy

Thanks for the advice geoqueen.

I do have Soy milk each day with breakfast cereals, but can't stand it in coffee and tea. Haven't heard of the Soy capsules - what are they called? Do you think they are sold in England? I expect there is something similar here that I can try and find.

Thanks again.

Soy Capsules

Soy capsules can be found in the "Women's Health" department of your drug store. Its a menopause supplement. The one I am taking is called SoyCare and I take a tablet in the morning and one at night. Seems to be helping.

Good Luck

Hormones Gone Crazy?

I did six months of Lupron, trying to dry up endometriosis. Each of my injections was supposed to be good for a month. I think it took about 8 or 10 weeks after the last one before I had a period again. Can't really recall, it's been almost ten years ago.

The good news in my case was that the endo didn't come back (I took BCP for years after a successful pregnancy.) But I developed adenomyosis and thus had the hyst.

While I was on Lupron, my doc prescribed Bellergal-S to help with the hot flashes and the anxiety. The anxiety was the worst for me and the drug helped.
