Surgery is done and I'm home now

Hi Sisters,
I just want to give you a little encouragement for your upcoming surgeries. I had my hysterectomy on Friday, April 26th (supracervial laproscopic keeping my ovaries).

I stayed one night in the hospital and am now home. So far everything is going well. The surgery was about 90 minutes long. When I woke up I had on pneumo boots to prevent clots. I also had a nausea patch just in case my stomach was upset, but I was starving when I woke up and ordered a big lunch with no nausea at all. The pain is well controlled with ibuprofen and percocet. I'm still planning to take 6 weeks off from work as a nurse.

The only regret I have is not doing this years ago. I am praying that all of you have an easy, uneventful surgery and recovery period, too.

your post caught my eye as you are a nurse. I am a radiology tech and am very familiar what goes on the OR. I am a bit nervous only because i don't know what to expect afterwards for my upcoming LAVH. I am keeping my ovaries and tubes. Glad to hear your recovery is going fine. I am scheduled for May 9th and I will be taking off eight weeks from work. This site has been wonderful for me..... will keep everyone posted..
