Hip and Upper Thigh Pain

Hello All,

I had my LAVH on March 7th. I seem to be doing fairly well, except for pain in my hips and my upper thighs just ache. Also, I have had pain on my right side, where my ovary is. I still have both ovaries.

I was just wondering if this pain is normal.

Any advice is appreciated!!

I had that ache after my TVH. With the position they put you in, it's probably normal. I felt like they pushed both legs back behind my head. As far as the pain by your ovary, this soon it's probably just from everything adjusting.

A friend of mine that is an RN told me my hip and leg pain was due to the positioning they put you in for your surgery and the amount of time you are in that position. She referred to it as "Candy Caneing". I'm not sure if I even want to know what that means!

My hips were killing me for WEEKS after my surgery. They really jack us into a bad position to get our legs out of the way so 5 people can work between them. I'm sure they wish we were all contortionists, or maybe that our legs were detachable
