LAVH One week post hysterectomy today

Want to send encouraging words to those who are less than a week post op. My surgery was last Monday, 2/16. When I read about some of the Sister's stage of recovery I was in disbelief because I was feeling so poorly. But... Thankfully it is true that each day I get stronger and feel more like myself and have less pain. Don't worry you will get to a better more comfortable stage of you recovery soon. Listen to your body and don't rush it. Everyone is unique! xo

Great to hear! I'm a week post tmrw, doing really well. Only taking ibuprofen, stool softener, and unfortunately gas-ex. I've had periodic spotting but the gas bubbles are probably my biggest complaint as it seems everything I eat makes me feel bloated and gasey. Hoping it's all a recovery thing. I am so thankful I'm past this and moving on
I do have a second surgery to look forward to in a couple months for reconstruction...oy!

Sorry to hear you have another surgery ahead. You will be an expert in recovering soon! My highest issue is constipation. Taking stool softener, prune juice and laxatives 😳 I think this is what's causing my lower back pain.

Glad to hear it gets better, I am only 2 days out and frankly feel like crap. Headaches which I am sure are hormonal (I had everything removed), insomnia and the gas pain of course. I know this will get better but last night was awful and I had a pity party LOL. Today I'm back up and just going to take it one day at a time.

Prayers that your recovery continues to improve and thank you for sharing your progress, it really gives me hope!

I think it's ok, and helpful, to cry. I also felt sad and confused and cried a few times. I described my pain as being hit by a bus for at least four days. Besides back pain and gas pains and tummy ache.. The stomach incisions feel so sore at times. I wasn't sure where to direct my self pity first ;-) I listened to relaxing meditation music on Pandora, put a pretty, lightly scented soap on my night stand ( certain smells bother me now) and enjoy the sun on my face from the window even though it's single digit temps outside. Take care of yourself and the healing is a journey I'm learning as I go. HUGS!!!

1 week post op today came in my check up terrified of a pelvic and she said I answered all her questions right. Let me tell you about the mini panic sweat attack I had thinking about it. Then she said I didn't need one. Phew lol. I actually feel great and no pain meds now in two days.
