Swelly Belly

Just curious whether you only get swelly belly with an abdominal hysterectomy, or if you get it whether you have an abdominal incision or not.

I can only tell you about mine. I had a vertical incision, and I am 4 weeks post op. I still have some what of a swelly belly. If I am up and around too much, it swells more. I have had a great recovery so far. I am not one to just lay around a lot. I can say that even at 4+ weeks post op, I still am afraid to put on jeans. I wear a lot of comfy pants, but I am sure in time I will get back to normal. The best part of all of this is that I have felt better almost immediately after surgery than I did before. You don't realize how poorly you feel, until you are getting better.
