Spotting? Am I doing too much?

I had my TLH on the 6th, and have been recovering nicely. This weekend, I started spotting. It's fresh blood. Today it's still light but a little heavier. I called the doctor's office and they said it is probably internal healing, but I should call if it gets heavy.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I've been to work twice now, for about 5 hours each time- one week post-op and today, but only did computer work. And I've been driving quite a bit. And a little grocery shopping. Some light housework and laundry. Is this too much?

Re: Spotting? Am I doing too much?

I also had mine on the 6th. I started spotting this past Sunday and also spiked a temp of 100.4 the doctor put me on an antibiotic and strict bed rest. Oh, mine was a TVH. I believe they are worried that I may have the beginning of an infection. Have you had pain since the surgery? I know I was feeling like a wimp since I could never get my pain under control and felt like I would never feel any better, but this explains my slow healing.

Morninggloria,

When you say fresh blood, is it pink or bright red?

What type of job do you have???

I had a little spotting right after my surgery and then nothing until the end of week 2, I am at week 5 and it is just starting to stop.

Re: Spotting? Am I doing too much?

Had mine TLH on May 8th. Same thing for me. Hardly any spotting after the first week, and now I am spotting more. It is pink, so not too worried, but should I still walk? I have my first follow up appointment on Friday.

Re: Spotting? Am I doing too much?

Thanks ladies for your responses- I really appreciate it! The spotting seems to be common, so that is good to know.

I'm back to work this week, doing 4 hour days about 24 hours total. I manage a Starbucks, and there's lots of potential to over do it, so I know that I have to be careful. It's nice now that I'm starting to get back to my normal life. I feel very fortunate that I had the laproscopic and only had three tiny incisions! You sisters that had the abdominal are my heroes!
