Novasure Post Op Concerns
Hi,
Just wanted to ask a question to any of you ladies who have had the Novasure procedure. I am at 5 weeks post-op and received my first visit from good ole Aunt Flo at 10 days post-op. And now 24 days later, she has not left yet! I've had horrendous cramps, low back pain and now a sharp pain on my right lower side of the abdomen. ( My heating pad is becoming my best friend.) Things weren't this bad before I had the ablation! My doctor called me yesterday and I will be going to see him on Monday, loaded with questions. I know it may be a bit too early to call the Novasure a failure for me, but this is getting ridiculous. My doctor did mention possible adenomyosis, so if that is the case, hysterectomy is looking a little more inviting. I just want my life back.
Anyone had uterine ablation and their first cycle just kept flowing and flowing? I have read on the ablation discussion site about the dreaded "drips" of all colors of the rainbow afterwards, but this is definitely Aunt Flo and not just the drips.
Sorry for the long vent, I am just frustrated.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems. I had the Novasure procedure and was period free for 6 months. Then my period showed up with god awful cramping and each month after became worse and worse until it was non stop. I hope your situation gets better.

Aunt Flow did not come until about 3/4 weeks after, then it was for a few days then a couple weeks later for a few more days till it got right back to the same heavy flow for at least 7 days and now its worse than ever with the pain, clotting, contraction feelings and even discharge during "other" times of the month. So sorry to hear you are having this problem..............I would d*****entaly get with your Dr. on the symptoms you are having, that dosen't even sound normal for one that didn't work. I'd get all the issues addressed fast, at least make sure that all is well on the inside. Let us know, and sorry about the ablation not working, we know how dissapointing it is to feel that you went through all this and it still didn't work.

My experience with Novasure was identical to this. No period for 6 months & then the cramps became unbearable with each month getting worse until finally I gave in & did the hyst. I held off for 4 years & the hyst ended up being a piece of cake! The dr said after all she found after the surgery she couldn't believe I hadn't done the hyst sooner.
Hope you feel better! Definately call the dr.

Sorry to hear of your problems....I had the same thing happen. My dr. suspected adno., but it turned out the ablation had aggravated fibroid hiding in the lining of my uterus. I hope that you are able to get it resolved with your dr. on Monday. I know how fustrating it is to still be in pain! Best wishes....Jen

Novasure Post Op Concerns
I had a great, long visit/chat with my ob/gyn today and have decided to go ahead with a hysterectomy. It will definitely be abdominal since I have had 2 c-sections. My doctor highly suspects adenomyosis. He is referring me to a Urologist first, since I have frequent urination and a couple of other possible bladder problems. My hubby is retiring from the Air Force is six weeks and will be off work and in between jobs for a couple of months, so I will more than likely be scheduling the hysterectomy the beginning of August. I am actually glad and looking for some relief. Thank you all for your replies. Have a blessed day!
