Post-op intimacy question
Has anyone tried being intimate w/out penetration before the six week benchmark? I'm just a little afraid, will the big "O" hurt stuff inside? I don't want to mess things up, but am dying to try....

Post-op intimacy question
Hi libra64!
It sounds like your recovery is going great so far! The question you have is one commonly asked. We have an entire page designed to help members with their sexual activity concerns:
Post-Op Sex Checkpoint
Do yourself a favor and take a read there! There will discover lots of information covering many sexual concerns post-hysterectomy patients have . Some post-hysterectomy patients are required to have complete pelvic rest during their recovery period, while others are allowed by their doctor to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity. It is important that you ask own doctor what's permitted for you.
Many s and Best Wishes,

Hi
You say you are at the 6 week mark.... you should be ok for it but please ask your doctor first. I hope it is good for you like it was for me...do it the right way. Denise.

Post-op intimacy question
I had an LSH two weeks ago. My doc said no sex for 2 weeks minimum. So, we played around with outercourse starting a few days after surgery since we were both ready to get back in the saddle. Orgasms feel just as great as before. Today we actually did the deed for the first time and it was awesome as usual. Just slower and gentler to start. We have sex almost every day, so for now we'll go to every 2nd or 3rd day for a week or two till I fully recover.
Play around, it's kinda fun just doing everything else except intercourse. I hope you get the okay soon, and it'll be great. My honey was terrific and so sweet about me calling the shots in that department.

Post-op intimacy question
Hi Libra64!
Yes, there are women who have been intimate without penetration, with or without the approval of their doctors. More important than that is: What did your doctor say is okay for you? If your doctor didn't cover this important part of your recovery with you, call and find out what is and is not allowed. My doctor's orders were very clear--nothing in the vagina and complete pelvic rest. Not all doctors are as strict. Please call your own doctor and get clearance from the only person who knows the extent of your surgery and how well your healing has progressed.
(((Sisters))), as a friendly reminder, we can't give medical advice on this site. We can't tell another Sister it's okay to engage in any activity based on our personal experiences--not even if our doctor gave the go ahead for the activity. What's right for one of us may be completely wrong for another. Please keep the site Guidelines in mind when replying.
Here are some links with good information on the subject. I hope everyone will take the time to read them.
