Discomfort in vagina?

I'm three weeks out from my TAH/BSO. Yesterday my granddaughter came to visit (18 mos) and without thinking I "assisted her two or three times (scooted her up on a chair, helped her off a step stool, not really picking her up, but I did lift most of her weight to move her). Dumb, I know. Last night and today I am "aware" of my vagina - like there is swelling or something - not really pain, but uncomfortable. No bleeding, thank God, but sort of pelvic congestion - like things are swollen. I am uncomfortable if I sit on the edge of my seat or lay on my side. Has anyone experienced this? Is it possible to cause edema or swelling form lifting? I feel so lousy and so stupid. I also have mild pain low in my groin on both sides. I've been laying around all day today hopng it would improve.

thanks for any thoughts.

Re: Discomfort in vagina?

Hi sharpie

I'm glad you've been lying down. I had similar sensations around three weeks, when I started to be more active. I found that taking ibuprofen (to reduce the swelling) and staying horizontal helped. If you aren't feeling better in the morning, call your doctor.

It's hard to truly pamper ourselves with small loved ones are with us. Continue resting, and let us know how you are tomorrow.

Hi Sharpie!

I am glad to hear your taking it easy. I am sure it will resolve itself with some rest. If you still feel the same on Monday, I think you should call the Dr. and let them know.
Take care

Re: Discomfort in vagina?

Thank you ladies! I'm planning on calling the doc if it doesn't improve. I'm thankful for your advice. I am taking the advil and plan to be off my feet again tomorrow. I think I'm doing a little better - but I don't know if it's just wishful thinking! Buddy - how are things for you?
