Doctors attitude?

Has anyone been able to talk to the doctor immediately prior to the surgery to see if he is having a good day? If he's had any arguements with the Mrs.? Is he awake!! Personally, I would like to check on a few things before the surgery!!!!!!!

Doctors attitude?

For each of my 2 surgeries with my gyn, he has stopped in just before it was my turn to go and asked me if I had any questions. Never thought about him having a bad day, he always seems so relaxed.

Doctors attitude?

LOL!!!

I hope that you don't have to be counseling your doctor in the OR before your surgery!!!!

I got to visit with my Dr. in the hallway outside the OR for about 15 minutes....he was sweet enough to stay with me and keep me company while the room was set up (I was the first surgery at 7 am). The nurses were all busy, and I was really scared, so he just kept me company and made small talk...it was really helpful.

I didn't ask him how HE was feeling, though...if he was in a rotten mood, I think I would have jumped off the gurney and fled down the hall in my backless gown.

I think you're taking this control thing a bit far....maybe you can call his wife and see what kind of day he's having??? (kidding)

It will be fine....please don't worry so much. s to you!!!!!

Doctors attitude?

My Dr. came to talk to me in the "holding area" for surgeries. My surgery was scheduled for 1:30 PM, and I never even went to the holding area until about 3:00. He was great - said it must be awful hard to be kept waiting all day, but said "we are all here now and just about ready for you". He then asked me a few last-minute questions. It just made me feel better to see him calm and reassuring because I was a basket case! I was also hungry and thirsty because I hadn't had anything, even water, since the night before.

Doctors attitude?

Just like the other ladies, my wonderful doctor has come to visit before each surgery I've had. He's always so calm and reassuring and usually has coffee in hand, when I've not been allowed any! But he has always had words of encouragement that make me feel better. And... I work with my GYN so I'd prob already know if he'd had a bad night or week, and it still would not matter because he's very focused on the task at hand... no pun intended!

Doctors attitude?

That's a question I never even thought of asking - thank God.

Like the other ladies, I got to chat with my dr, just before I was put to sleep. He explained that he would attempt a TVH instead of the planned TAH and was very caring and gentle. And he was very calm.

After the surgery, and he did that after a previous surgery, he came to me in the recovery room and explained that he'd been successful at doing a TVH and that I was very tired due to heavy loss of blood.

I believe that I would have felt it if he was having a bad day.

Honestly, I would think that most doctors, like many professionals, are able to separate personal life from their work and are able to concentrate on the surgeries when they need to.

Best of luck and relax: you'll be fine.

Doctors attitude?

My dr met me in the pre-op holding room and walked down to the OR suite with me (I rode). I never thought about how he was feeling....what would I have done if he told me he felt lousy?

You Guys Are the Greatest!!!

I appreciate the responses on this. I was having a weird/weak moment yesterday when I posted this. I do trust my doctor! He is the best doctor I have ever had. Even when the pathology report came back with bad news, he tried to make it sound positive. (over the phone) He said "the D & C could have gotten all of it ............... but ........... definitely not likely." What a contradication!!!!! Buy over the years I have noticed that he tries to be positive no matter how bad it is. Sometimes weird things just pop into my head! A special thanks to KarenL for the good laugh!! I think I am getting paranoid and the surgery isn't til the end of July. ( TVH for CIN3/CIS - date not scheduled yet)
Thanks Everyone!
