kidney/bladder infection

Hi, ladies. I had a TAH on Wednesday (2/5). I had been feeling extremely sick and wound up going back to the ER this afternoon. They gave me a script for nausea medicine and some more IV pain meds (I hadn't been able to take any because I was vomiting so much). I'm on a high dose antibiotic because my incision opened up a little in the hospital and have been able to resume taking it. I'm drinking lots of water, though nothing sounds appealing to me, but I'm noticing a lot of fullness and pain in my back and when I pee. I don't have fever, but I do have diarrhea (I'm just glad to be going!). Anyone else have this problem? Are urinary issues normal after surgery?

Re: kidney/bladder infection

I had a lot of pressure with ANY amount of bladder pressure for the first two weeks. Now almost 4 weeks out and still gets uncomfortable when it gets too full. I have been making myself go every few hours to keep the pressure off.

Re: kidney/bladder infection

I've had lots of pressure and lower back pain. Told my doctor about it at my two week checkup. My urine test came back good. Went back to the doctor yesterday for possible rectocele (have a small rectocele) told Dr. I still have lots of pressure. She put on a antibiotic. Dr. said even though my urine test came back good it possible to have bladder problems. The antibiotic seems to be working. Still have pressure just not as bad as it was. Hope you get feeling better soon.
