pre-op many questions

Hi, i'm new to all this and it came up so fast. I'm scheduled for surgery nov. 18th. All my girl parts are being taken out except for the left ovary. Not sure if this is a good decession or not. I'm 43 and and had cervical cancer when i was 30, thankfully only stage 1. When i was 23 they removed "abnormal cells". Both which were caused by hpv. After 13 years the hpv is now present again, along with 2 cysts on the right ovary. Gramdmother and younger sister both had to have masectomies. I understand this will help lower my chances of cancer but what's the trade off?

I am 5 days post-op, and I have one ovary, so far so good, I had my uterus, and cervix removed. My left ovary removed in 2006, I was so glad I was able to keep the right one.
