Will I ever get released by the dr?
Okay- 3 and 1/2 months posts-op and still haven't been released. When I went for my 2 wk post-op check, my dr told me that my incision was "not healing right". Fast forward through the summer which included 3 applications of silver nitrate and 3 weeks ago I had cryo (sp?) on the incision. Dr said the incision is too soft and needs to harden to reduce the risk of the incision tearing. At the last visit my lymph node on the right side of my groin was tender and a bit inflamed so I was put on antibiotics for 10 days and that solved the problem. Now the lymph node is sore and inflamed again. Anybody else have anyhting like this?

Will I ever get released by the dr?
Hi Karen,
I had my hyster. almost one year before you, I had issues with my incision also, mine opened !! I was not released from my doc for 6 months because of that!!! I doesn't sound like you are having the problems I had, so it really shouldn't be too much longer for you! When I was put on antibiotics believe it or not it made me heal much faster and the pain in my lymp node didn't last but a couple of days(3-4).
I know it is hard to deal with, I have been there!!! I promise things will be better for you soon.

Hi Karen,
I can't help you, but I am sending you Hugs. It must be so frustrating to not be healing well. Good Luck to you!

I'm so sorry you're having a challenging recovery.
I didn't have the incision issues you are having (although mine took 10 weeks to close altogether) but I did deal with a post-op hematoma for a year following my surgery. So I know a little of how you're feeling. It's no fun.
Try to keep the faith and I hope better days are ahead for you!

My problems weren't as bad as yours. But, I'm still waiting to be released. It was 6 weeks Tuesday. My incision was very slow closing. I've taken several prescriptions of antibiotics and am still cleaning it every day. I have an appt next week and am hoping to be released then.
Sorry to hear it's taking you so long to recover.
Hang in there.
Debbie

I appreciate all the support! I failed to say that the incision that is causing the problems is internal. I had a TVH/LSO, so everything was done internally. It is the incision that can be seen by dr upon examination and is on the left side. Also, I still have pain on my left side (I'm assuming it's because that ovary and tube were also removed). The pain is when I move to quick like sitting up from a lying position or if I am moving around too much. I live in SE Texas and have spent the last week packing and unpacking for hurricane Rita. I've noticed quite a bit of soreness. How long before it goes away? Six months? Ever? I'm just sooooo ready to be through with all of this "hysterectomy stuff"!
