1 week post hysterectomy, still having bladder spasms

I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy, everything but my ovaries removed. I had a lot of scar tissue and my uterus, colon and bladder were all attached. The first night in the hospital I had such bad bladder spasms and was unable to void. Had to have a catheter. I am still having the spasms although not as bad I am still having to straight catch because I cannot fully empty my bladder. Has anyone else had this issue?

Re: 1 week post hysterectomy, still having bladder spasms

My spasms had a couple of symptoms - I had a hard time starting the stream, it wasn't steady, and I'd feel like I hadn't completely emptied either. I guess it lasted around 2 weeks. The advice I give is just to watch for any negative changes (cloudy urine, burning while going) which might indicate a UTI. Stay hydrated too!

I had similar issues as you. Very painful spasms that would literally stop me in stream. Thank you for replying the bladder spasms were not something I was expecting.
