Re: Is this normal?
Hi Robin
What you are feeling sounds very normal after a hyster for two reasons. First this is a big surgery with a lot of anxiety around it, you are still early days in recovery and when you get tired at the end of the day, the emotions surface more than when you are busier during the day. The second reason is that even when you keep your ovaries they get knocked about, bruised, their blood supply can be disrupted or cut off partially or completely depending on which arteries supply them and there can also be some nerve damage. Given all that many sisters find their ovaries go into shock and stop working or go out of whack for a while. Usually that is temporary and they recover after a few weeks or a few months. Being emotional can be a symptom of this ovary shock. It is worth discussing with your doctor
