I think I am a normal person but the thought of beeing intimate again scares me like crazy, since my hysterrectomy I am very protective around the incision area, dont get me wrong I love my husband dearly but I still get scared feeling that something will snap inside , start bleeding ect.. Any of you ladies had this feeling ? Help

Scared to having se....

I sooo glad someone else feels this way. I feel exactly the same way. I hope someone else has something encouraging to say too! I'm scared for the very same reasons, but I bet anxious about leaving my pets for the weekend - so I thought it was just me, which made me feel quite abnormal. It has to be normal, however, to feel protective of our wounds (incision). I just hope someone else has had a successful intimate experience and will share some encouragement. Thank you for writing about your fear.

Scared to having se....

At my four week check my Gyn said we could resume sex at 6 weeks, we were a few days short of 6 weeks when we decided to see how the new playground worked. Everything worked beautifully with just a little discomfort trying to find a position to exert the least amount of pressure on my incision.
Don't be nervous, set the mood first with music, candles. Remember to have some sort of lubricant and take things very slowly. You will find that each time gets easier and better.

You are not alone. There are many threads and many ladies who fear being intimate the first time. Regardless of your hyst type, there are the internal incisions, then depending on your hyst time, the outer incisions. Once your dr has released you for sex, it is best to go slow, just in case. For some, it does take a few times to be completely comfortable. Best wishes to.

Scared to having se....

I'm another one who felt this way. We were cleared over 10 days ago to resume intercourse, but I just couldn't. I was so scared of how it would feel, I'm sure I wasn't this bad after childbirth.

However, I'm pleased to report we remedied this situation this morning. DH has been great, no pressure on me.
It turned out I had nothing to worry about, I chose the position so I had control of the situation, we went slowly and I had no pain at all.
I look forward to things getting better and better.
All the best, you are not alone feeling like this.

Hey sisters, can relate all too well.(TAH on Nov. 17, 2005) Nervous has got to be a common experience for all of us the "first time back around" One lady on here mentioned trying outercourse the first time to help you get over the nervousness and become reaquainted with your body's feelings, and it was I have to say pretty darn good My Dr recommended that when I (and he stressed the word "I") felt like I was ready to resume this part of our relationship(after 6weeks) to be the one on top because then I would have more control over how it progressed. I was nervous as all get out (which made me feel silly) and I found myself having a little trouble relaxing completely; I know this is because of what my body has been through and worrying about it hurting something inside. Anyways...being the one "in control" really did help, and I am relieved to say everything worked fine and I feel it will get better after I can totally relax now that I know I won't fall apart at the seams-ha. I won't lie though, I really felt sore afterwards at my incision and inside felt a little "raw" but this all subsided within a matter of hours. I only had a little spotting of light red blood and have been told this may happen to some of us. Well, I hope that this has helped some and I have to say that I agree with what we have been told about so many things regarding this surgery, take your time with everything and listen to your body because we only get one chance to do this right. Good luck with ALL of your healing and best wishes for a great new year!

Scared to having se....

At my 3 1/2 week post-up I was told that we only had to wait 1 more week..well at the point I was nervous as well. We did wait another couple of days and just took it very easy. The advise about lubricant is good. I never had a problem in this area before but found that right now it is an issue. I did notice a spot of blood the first time but it has not been an issue since.
