Sharp stabbing pain in lower abdomen

Hey all,

I have been experiencing lower abdominal/pelvic pain for a couple of days. It has progressively been getting worse and now is a sharp stabbing pain.

I am 2 weeks post-op and already made an appointment with my Dr. for tomorrow. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this...

I'm having the same problems and it just started this week.. I plan on asking my Dr. on Wed. when I see her for my 2 wk appt. I'm taking a pain pill tonight to help with the pain and I haven't taken one since 5 days post-op..

I have this off and on near ovaries.

I did go to the doctor this morning and she said that everything looks okay. She thinks it may just be from scar tissue and. of course, the natural healing process.

She is having me take 800mg of ibuprofen 3 times a day and said that the anti-inflammatory should help.

We'll See.

I'm so glad my friend found this forum for me.
I too am having the same symptoms you are. I do notice though, the closer I am to relieving my bodily functions, the pain worsens until I'm through either urinating or making a bm. I also have constant cramps that feel just like menstrual cramps. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Had my friend not found this information for me, I would be going crazy with the what if's.
Do you have cramps or any of the above symptoms?

Yes she did check my urine. She said it looked fine but was sending out my urine to be double checked.

I have all of the above. I don't think any of it is abnormal but I would recommend you ask your doctor just to be on the safe side.

Hope you are feeling better soon. What type of hysterectomy did you have?

I also have the sharp pains and cramping along with lower back pain and leg aches in the evening. Had my 2 week post op today and was told everything looked great. Was also told to take 800 mg of Ibuprofin. I am having ALOT of problems with bm's. I've used stool softeners, fiber (metamucil), lots of water, even laxatives and nothing til this morning. Still hard and felt like giving birth. Small bit of spotting afterwards. But tonight I am very uncomfortable even after the ibuprofin. I too have had so much great advice just from reading on this site. It has truly been a God send for me.

I just had my 2 week followup today, and asked DR about the stabbing pains--he said it's normal, part of the healing process. Everything in there is raw, including the nerves, and it's rearranging itself to fill in the void, and I need to manage the pain with ibuprofen.
