Re: 9 days post hysterectomy: pressure when urinating

hey Montana,
I am no medical pro - but maybe you suffer from the famous " cranky bladder symptom" just think what that poor bladder was exposed to during you surgery. I am now in week 7 of recovery and still have a wee bit of it - but it gets better. Tlk to your doc if you are bothered hopefully he/she will put your mind at ease.
wishing you a safe and speedy recovery

Re: 9 days post hysterectomy: pressure when urinating

I'm 5 weeks out and still have issues with my bladder. Sometimes it's a pressure. Sometimes it's an actual pain. I have had a few times when I felt like I just couldn't empty my bladder. I still have days when I have to sit on the toilet a full minute before my bladder decides to do its thing. I asked my Dr. He said it's normal. Between the surgery, the cath and the meds, it just needs time to heal and adjust. I was told to watch for the other signs of bladder infection (smelly or different color urine) but otherwise it would get there in time. Ask your Dr if it becomes a problem.

I'm 9 days pot-op as we'll and I have this feeling as well. I think my poor bladder is mad at me and probably trying to adjust just like I am. I don't blame it for being mad at me! The poor thing didn't even see this coming!

Re: 9 days post hysterectomy: pressure when urinating

I am almost 5 months out from TAH and my bladder just stopped hurting 2 weeks ago!!! It took forever!!!! My abdomen would ache all the time and peeing was so uncomfortable. It is such a relief to finally be out of pain. The uterus was peeled off your bladder. And the bladder was likely moved around. It is very angry! I found that was the last thing till I felt human again!!! We are all different, but just drink lots of water and pee as much as you can to keep everything moving. It will go away!!
