Hello lovelies!

Here I am in the ward after my surgery yesterday.

Turns out I had some adhesions and scarring onto my bowel and on one ovary, so my TAH ended up taking 4 1/4 hours and took an ovary. Maybe some endo - which is a surprise for me!

So far today I have eaten, showered, weed and farted...and I am feeling good sitting up in a chair.

Best of luck hystersisters - enjoy that deep sleep and much improved health around the corner!

Had my lap assisted vag hysterectomy yesterday afternoon. Doing pretty good, I don't hurt as much as I anticipated. My uterus was large and many fibroids but he still managed to go through vagina which was great. Surgery took 2 1/2 hrs. My blood pressure has been a bit strange I'm normally on two meds for high bp but it's been dropping all the down to 87/43 but hopefully it will even out soon. Hoping to go home today just waiting on blood work.
So grateful to be on this side and so grateful for all the info on this site!!!
Glad you're doing well sparkle rainbows!!
I hope everyone is doing well!

Hello Systers! I had my total abdominal hysterectomy yesterday morning at 7am. I was so worked up about getting the operation I did not prepare myself for the recovery. This is some serious business! The pain I was in yesterday was pretty intense. I was also very emotional. Crying on and off . I was frustrated, at one point I thought my dr and nurses hated me. Yikes. Today's pain was manageable in the hospital but I was sent home with a lower dose of the medication I had in the hospital. Hope it cuts it. Scared to even call my dr is it doesn't. So many people are pill seekers. The gas pains are pretty bad too, the swelling. Whew! This is nothing like a c-section recover like I thought. I bounced right back after those. Not this one. The dr did say my uterus was adhered to my bowel, my bladder was covered in adhesions. And my left ovary had to many cysts so I was left with one ovary. I'm sticking to the instructions of the dr. And taking it easy as possble. I hope everyone else's recovery is much better than mine has been. I'm the exception I think though. 24 hours post op

Hi Laura
I hope you got some rest last night.
My swelling is insane too, and gas is definitely everything everyone warned about. So painful! The nurses kept ice packs on me most of the hospital stay but towards the end asked if I wanted to try warm blankets for the gas and the heat definitely is helping more than the cold to get the gas moving out.
Don't be afraid to talk to your dr about different meds if they didn't help. Mine lowered the dose too for home but only one round was unbearable so far (knock on wood)
Wishing you a great recovery!

How are you doing today sparkle rainbows?
