6 months out- still not 100%
So I'm at about the 6 month mark from my hysterectomy- uterus removed, kept cervix and ovaries. I'm still swelling and cramping when I am active. Also experiencing lower energy and am recently worried about having sex although we've done it plenty. My expectation for 6 months is that I would be completely healed. Now I'm worried and frustrated. What was/is your experience at 6 months out?

Re: 6 months out- still not 100%
I thought that at about that time I was healed completely and found out very quickly that I wasn't when I pushed a heavy cart in Sam's Club. I ended up being sore for a week after that. It took another few weeks before I could push or lift anything really heavy without feeling it.
When they say that the healing can take up to a year, it is true. Give your body time and you will get there.

Re: 6 months out- still not 100%
Im almost 7 months and still feel the swelly belly and a little sore when i do too much. But i feel a lot better over all. I still can't get into my preop clothes. I gained a few pounds and I am trying so hard to lose the weight. Give it time but know you are not alone. May God continue to be with us all of us through our healing time.

Re: 6 months out- still not 100%
I'm also at six months. These days I've been getting achey in the lower pelvic area. I have a desk job, and was a little stiff and achey when I went back to work at 9 weeks, but then it was fine. Now I'm feeling that achiness again. My scar area is still itchy sometimes.
Generally I've been doing well, and grateful all the time when I do things now that I wasn't able to do early on. In addition to losing the 5 pound alien that was in me, i had lost additional pounds, and have the flattest stomach in memory, woohoo! I can fit back into clothes that I thought I'd never be able to wear again! Yeah!

5 months out and me too!! I will have a great week and then BAM...pelvic ache and low energy. I really thought I would be 100% by now. My back and right hip hurt too. I feel older now than I did before my surgery!

Re: 6 months out- still not 100%
I also feel the pains in abdomen still once in awhile. I went back to work at 6 weeks even though my dr wanted me to wait at least 2 more weeks. My job is very stressful & have been paying the price but it was my choice & I still work anywhere from 50-70 hrs per week. I gained weight & am still trying to loose it but with working so many hours it has been very difficult. Well ladies good luck to u all!

Re: 6 months out- still not 100%
Glad I am not alone. I have gained weight since surgery and really pushed it today cleaning the house. My pelvis hurts. The vacuum was heavier than I remember going up the stairs. Hope we all feel better soon

Re: 6 months out- still not 100%
I am 24 weeks out, and feeling crappy by the end of most days. I have a demanding job (junior high teacher) and my doctor believes that is why I am having difficulty healing. She said I also had so much other growth removed throughout my abdomen that it could honestly take up to a year. I am sore, bloated with my swelly belly, and still have difficulty with abdominal flexibility. Whenever I put on pants with buttons and zippers, I feel sore and nauseous. I am getting so frustrated. Is there anything we can do?
