4 days post hysterectomy: Diet?
Just wanted to see what are some of the foods that everyone is eating? I'm trying a high fiber low gassy diet! Cranberry juice to avoid UTIs! Some foods that help are, chicken noodle soup, sherbet, yogurt, strawberries, raspberries. I'm missing chocolate though! Boooo .

Re: Diet
I've been limiting going out to eat and making more meals at home, and haven't been eating a lot of sugary stuff. Since my surgery, I've been sticking to various soups, meals with brown rice, yogurt, and other soft foods. When I was constipated, I talked to my doctor's nurse and she recommended apples and grapes, and specifically told me to eat the skins of both because that's the part (not the meat of the fruit) that will help energize the digestive system. I still managed to get a UTI about week after surgery, and learned that there is a difference between no-sugar cranberry juice and "Ocean Spray" (or other regular brand cranberry juices you'll find on the juice aisle) cranberry juice. The sugar in juices will feed a UTI, whereas the no-sugar blend will do more good and should help with the symptoms and cleaning the tract better.

Re: Diet
True about the apple peels, and the pectin is a good chelate, which helps rid toxins from the body.
Colors/cruciferous/and leafy with baked or broiled fish are good for you too
