Re: post op 6wks open incision

I did and called to be seen. They treated the area with silver nitrate. Burned off the excess skin and it promoted it to heal properly.

She only did an area about half an inch long. It burned a bit but nothing bad since I was still pretty numb.

Re: post op 6wks open incision

I'm at 36 days post op. Done with that yucky green stitches dissolving stinky discharge. But now at the vaginal opening it seems like there is a small lump (feels like scare tissue) that bleeds when there is pressure (especially during a bowel movement).Probably TMI, sorry! This just started about a week ago. Not sure if it's the same as yours, but after reading these replies, I'm thinking I'm in need of the Silver nitrate procedure. I'm still having bleeding and a little cramping when I do to much. I'm wondering when and if this will ever end? It's been a blessing to read these forums as I feel I'm not alone. Thank you everyone :-)

Mine is one of the three laporscopic insicisions on my belly. So I'm not sure about yours. Have you told your Dr. You are still bleeding?? I haven't spotted since about 1 week post op. and have no pain. Do you have appt. Soon??

Re: post op 6wks open incision

Oh sorry, I didn't see it was your tummy.
When I saw my Dr a few weeks ago this wasn't going on. But he did say the discharge was stitches dissolving and that spotting and light bleeding could continue. Unfortunately, I'm 700 miles away from home and won't be returning for 3 weeks.
