Night sweats

Hi. I'm not on any HRT because my dr. was hoping my left ovary would take care of it all. I go in on Wed. to see if there are cysts on my ovary if there are I will go back on the birth control pill. Was supposed to have ultrasound today, but I've got the flu! Anyway, I have night sweats 2-3 times a night, doesn't help me get my sleep in! Anything I can do about those? Should I call Dr? Thanks very much for this website, it has helped so much!

Night sweats

I've not had any symptoms yet, although I'm at 3 weeks now. But in anticipation of that, I talked to the doctor about it before the surgery. Migraines and occasional night sweats were my complaint.

We discussed trying Estragel, which was apparently just approved by the FDA. I see my Blue Cross plan covers it, as well. It's a bioidential estrogen gel in a pump. You just have it sitting on your counter like a hand lotion and when you need it you just pump some out and rub it in your forearm or wherever.

So if I do end up needing something, I plan to try that.

But I think you said you've only just had the surgery? Like 4 days ago or something? Could it be that you are mainly just diuresing from all those fluids they fill you up with? I did that for most of the first week I was home. Since my gastrointestinal system was so out of whack I was on a fluid-only diet for so many days I had a lot of excess liquid to get rid of.

Night sweats

Hi normaljeans;
Sometimes it takes the ovary a little while to "wake up" after a hyst. You will want to be sure to mention your night sweats to your doctor.

He/she can give you something to ease the symptoms until the ovary decides to get going. (If you want something).

If you can't wait until Wed., call his service and ask for something.

Best wishes to you!
