Hi gang, new to Hyster Sisters

Hi all,

I am just a little past two weeks post op and all is going well.

I tend to over do things but am learning to take it easy. I am eager to get on with things. Patience is not a virtue of mine..lol

All in all I am glad to have gotten this done. My tummy is still swollen but the sad thing is I was this swollen BEFORE as well. My urerus thought is was 4-5 month pregnant for no reason. With it being so enlarged my periods were VERY bad. My Doctor explained that is because there was more surface area to bleed from, so after a DNC did nothing we decided it would be a good idea to remove it.

I had my cervix, uterus and appendix taken out. They left my ovaries in, so I can still send hubby out for goodies when I get cravings YIPEE....

My Doctor is fantastic, he has told me how to avoid gas problems and constipation. The nurses at the hospital feared him, but he was great. The hospital was urgh...they forgot to bring me my food one day then pain meds the next...which was tough because as soon as they got my catheter out I was walking laps around my floor so I could go home.

I am getting around pretty good but still can't lay flat or stretch cause it seends sharp pain into my pelvic area. I love support panties, they make a huge difference. The support is amazing, it really minimizes the discomfort .

I am down 11lbs since surgery, which is great becuase I thought it would make me gain weight. I can't wait to get released to go work out or swim or something. Sitting around drives me bonkers..

I love that this group is here for support or I think I would lose my mind of boredom.

Hi gang, new to Hyster Sisters

Thats Great Lisa!

I'm happy you are having a relatively easy recovery. What kind of surgery did you have?

Hi gang, new to Hyster Sisters

Lisa,
to the Post op side of life.

This is a great site. If you click on Checkpoints you will find good information for the weeks following surgery. Remember even though you are feeling good, avoid strenuous exercise and activities. My post op instructions said to lay down with my feet up for at least an hour two times a day. (I am sure I was down more than that though

My doc cleared me at 4 weeks post op to resume my activities, including swimming and exercise. But I still went back into it slowly and avoided problems from overdoing.
