Glad to! I really would like to reassure others that if they are not "up and at 'em" within 2 weeks of the DaVinci total hysterectomy; you ARE normal. Many other posts I have read on many websites state that this procedure will allow you to resume all normal activities within 2 weeks...so not true

Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

Yes, I hope I have. I have gotten so much from this website! I am glad I found it! I enjoy helping others. Helping make the "scary" a little less so is important.

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

i hope other sisters forgive me for my epic-length posts!! i honestly try to edit down the word count, but it's tough -- my typing fingers all too easily keep up with my brain, haha!

i try to put thought into my responses, because i care about encouraging women who are genuinely seeking advice or comfort. if only words were enough -- often, they're not, and so i find myself lifting up other hurting souls in prayer, hoping that God will speak peace to their hearts, fill their emptiness when they are down, and put someone into their day to touch them with His love.

SOOOO thankful to hystersisters; i have been helped time and again here, and hope that my words are used to reassure others whenever possible.

btw, a thread may appear to have only 2, 6, 7, or only a dozen posts...but it might have over one hundred readers!! you just never know whom you might be helping when you submit a kindhearted thought or informative tip. ya'just never know!

Sue- You are awesome! I am so jealous that your fingers can keep up with your thoughts- what a gift I'm thankful for your humor and encouragement.

Has anyone heard from rfaith today? She posted earlier but, hasn't posted since.

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

Sue- Epic-length posts? I don't feel so bad now! LOL And here I was feeling horrid for writing novellas on the boards :P

I have found so much help, information, advice and support here. I've just recently started feeling well enough to actually be able to sit and help others, but by golly I an going to try and give at least as well as I got.

We have to keep the circle turning!

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

This board has been a lifesaver for me! It has made my recovery so much more tolerable. I hope my posts to others have helped them. Sometimes I have not advice but want them to know I am sorry they are going through whatever it is they are struggling with. I will be forever grateful to the sister who turned me on to this site.

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

I've been trying to "help" at least one sister each day. So far this site has been my saviour. I spend hours at a time here to alleviate the boredom.

That was so good for me to read...
I feel somehow that because I have actually been out of bed on day 4 post-op, walking around the house and doing some light housework, that there is this unspoken "expectation" by my family (and perhaps myself!) that I will be up to normal speed in no time....
I need to remind myself that I just had major surgery, even with it having been the DaVinci, and that I need to be kind and gentle to myself and allow whatever time my body needs to fully heal...
