I can't take the stress anymore...

Hi Everyone,
I'm 6 days pre-surgery still have my ovaries and feeling really frisky! The question is... can I mastrubate externally this early or will I cause damage? I don't feel feel comfortable enough to ask my Doctor!
Stressing that, any experience in this matter would be deeply appreciated! I'd love to have some peace & refeif, but I'm scared encase I cause problems! I don't even know why I'm like this... is there something wrong with me for feeling this way & barely controlling myself? Will it settle or has Surgery turned me into a Sex Crazed Woman? Is anyone else experiencing this high or have been through it... how did you manage... how soon till you got relief & if too soon any damage? Anyhow, my bladder is not happy after being stuck to my uterus for a long time & now nothing to hang onto & the wind pains are horrible too... I have to go to work in 4 weeks time... including a 2 hour flight to Brisbane & back for a week... wonder how that will go! I Hope to make some good friends here for support!
Thank-you so Much!

Re: I can't take the stress anymore...

I think it is normal for some women to feel frisky after their surgery. Our hormones are all over the place! However, I do not have any experience in answering your question about satisfying yourself. I would try to hold off as long as possible. You definitely do not want to do anything that could set back your recovery. Hang in there and happy healing!

You are not alone! Some women do experience a surge in libido post op. It's important to resist the urge for intercourse and put nothing in the vagina until your doctor clears you to do so. As far as self-stimulation, we do advise women to get the ok for outercourse from their doctor. Only your doctor knows what was done during your surgery and what is safe for you to do. Some doctors require complete pelvic rest post op, which means (among other things) no orgasms. Give your doctor's office a call, trust me, they have heard it before!

Thank-you... yes I will wait... unless someone on here says they've done it and all is well! Still I know that we are all different with different surgeries too... so that makes things hard! Take Care! Kind Regards Eboka

First, you are not alone. I had the up side last week now it is gone. I would also call the doctor. They have absolutely heard it all. If it is unusual you should report it. I would not masterbate without your doctors permission. You just had a huge surgery. Lots of inflammation and repair going on.

Hi, Okay... so it will settle & won't be like this for the next 6 weeks? Now that's a relief! I'm sure it's just what everyone else had experienced around a week after surgery & nothing too out of the ordinary.
I was just interested in knowing what to do! Now I've settled on waiting, don't want or have the time to be recovering longer than I have to due to work commitments at just 4 weeks! Thank-you for your reply! Hugs

Re: I can't take the stress anymore...

Like you, this wasn't something I wanted to discuss with my doctor. He's in his 60s. I'm in my late 50s and single, so he probably assumes I'm sexless.

I know that when I orgasm, I can feel lots of clenching muscles down there. In the first few weeks following my surgery, my body made it really clear that clenching those muscles hard and fast several times in a row would not be a good idea!

When I saw my doctor at four weeks, he cleared me to run, cycle and swim although not to lift more than 30 lbs or do abdominal exercise. I didn't ask him about sex, but I took the system for a test drive that night. Everything worked fine and there were no repercussions afterwards. :-)
