still sore at 5 weeks
Is it too early at 5 weeks post op to expect not to have any soreness in tummy. I think I have been doing too much, walking for 30 mins and also doing shopping, cooking and all the normal things except ironing and vacumming that a family of husband and 2 teenage girls means. Would welcome any hints. tummy very sore and tight today..
TAH 18 Feb. due to huge fibroid. one ovary remaining

still sore at 5 weeks
It is not at all unreasonable to still feel a bit sore at 5 weeks.
I know I still felt twinges and aches long after that, though certainly on a decreasing basis.
If you are doing EVERYTHING except the ironing and vacuuming, sweetie, you are quite probably doing too much.
Try to set some priorities on what you can ignore - encourage your girls and your dh to lend a hand. The key to getting back into your routines is to do it all gradually. If you are having a lot of pain regularly, let the dr know. If you notice pain after doing things, still let the dr know --- but maybe do things in shorter batches and with more rests in between.
Recovery can be frustrating -- especially when you start to feel better, it is not unusual to want to plunge back into things right away and get a bit carried away.
take care

and I still feel sore. When I am up and about like I was this weekend for Easter my stomach is very sore. It is not really pain but an achy soreness type feeling. Hard to describe.
Also if I over eat as I did yesterday I am so uncomfortable. I am trying to get back into doing most normal things but find I have to rest a lot just to have the energy to get anything done.
I do feel much much better than I did two weeks ago though. I think everyday I feel a little better.
GOOD LUCK with your recovery and continue to take it easy and rest as much as possible.

still sore at 5 weeks
I too am at 5 weeks and notice that if I overeat, I feel extremely uncomfortable. I wore pants without an elastic waist for the first time yesterday and by the end of the day was I feeling it.
You really have to try not to do too much too soon. That is the key.

still sore at 5 weeks
I'm five weeks today and have to stop myself from not getting on the treadmill. Even on a good day, I know that if I get on that I will feel it at the end of the day. It's very frustrating but I just try to get my "workout" from doing everyday chores!
