Dry mouth 10-days postop hysterectomy

First off, a million thanks to this site! I've been loitering as a non-member for over a month and now rely on the wisdom within more than ever I had a TVH (kept both ovaries) 10-days ago. I have had awful side effects, but I am feeling somewhat human finally. Note to self: terrible candidate for general
anaesthesia-ugh. Just...ugh. I have built up to walking 20min a day now, but I am suffering the whole time with extreme dry mouth. It is so dry it feels difficult to allow air in if that makes sense, and I can hardly swallow. I drink over a gallon of water a day (thanks to the dry mouth, lol) so it's not dehydration. When does this particular treat pass? o_O

Give it another couple of weeks. Between the blood loss and the tube you're prob. slightly dehydrated (despite your excellent water-drinking habits) and your throat & mouth are sore and healing. It does happen and it does get better.
