I would love that too....what an excellent idea....

I am not as well versed in the Scriptures as my other sisters. I really must get my childhood Bible from my Mum's house....it feels like the right thing to do.

Thank-you all for sharing. I'm going to copy this thread and save it!

This is a song...wish I could remember all of the words...and who it was written by

"Somebody's Praying....I can feel it. Somebody's Praying for me. Mighty hands are guiding me...to protect me from what I can't see....Lord, I believe.....Lord, I believe....Somebody's Praying....for me." The melody is just glorious....

Sadly this is all I can remember. A Newfie (From Newfoundland) band that I used to kind of follow (friend of a friends dh was in the band) and this song always brought tears of Joy to my eyes....it was as if God was speaking to me. The name of the band was the Carlton (sp?) Show Band. I would love to see if I can dig it up on CD. If I can find it, I'll let you all know.

Sending lots of Love to each of you....

Hysterectomy

Thank you for the prayer suggestions on this message board.

Last week I had a hyst. thinking all would go as expected and ended up going back to the operating room the very same night for internal bleeding. My blood pressure was 40 and I kept passing out uncontrollably. Everything would turn black on me. The doctors and nurses worked hard and efficiently and after my surgery I went to CCU all week and had blood transfusions .
I feel extremely blessed to be home!

I am encouraged by this WEB site
Thank you~

Thank you, Susan, for the link for the picture.
I wish I had seen this before my surgery. It is
powerful!
Oceangage, I am assuming that your name was
on the prayer list for surgery. Thank the Lord that
we were able to pray for you for this surgery. Praise
God that you are now on your way to recovery. The
power of prayer is astounding!

Locki~
Thank you so much for what you wrote.....
Actually, I had not joined this site too far in advance of my surgery so I did not ask for prayers here, but my Friends and Family have been so supportive praying and I can still use prayers for my recovery. I am finding the hemorrhaging, low hct, 2 surgerys, etc was more difficult than the abdominal incision and effects of the hyst.
My situation was unusual and does not happen but rarely.
It was hard for the nurses and doctors who operated on me since I am a nurse who works with them.
I feel blessed to be here right now~
God pulled me through
People should go into the surgery with a positive attitude for usually all goes fine. I am now stronger and more positive for the experience.

encouraging Scriptures for surgery?

Heres a few verses my friend gave me to read for my surgery:
2 Corinthians 12;9-10
"And he said to me "My grace is sufficient for you, fo my strength is mad perfect in weakness" Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses for Christs sake. For when I am weak then I am strong."

Just look to the Lord and he will hold you through your infirmities..
God Bless you all!!

encouraging Scriptures for surgery?

Hi,
This is a wonderful thread! My favorite scripture was and is Psalm 121 and also Psalm 18. As a matter of fact, many, many chapters in the Books of Psalms are so encouraging. They talk about the Lord taking care of us and being our Fortress in the time of trouble.

But Psalm 121 had a verse that was my favorite..."the Lord neither slumbers nor sleeps..." That was so comforting to me because one of the scariest things to me was being asleep and not knowing what was going on. And the Lord just let me know that even though I would be asleep, HE never sleeps, and HE would watch over me and guide the hand of the surgeon!

God bless
In Jesus,

God's Promises

This is my favorite verse for any situation. It helped me through my breast biopsy last month, and through the extreme weakness and fatigue I've had these past several months caused by anemia from excessive bleeding, and it is helping me through this endless waiting for my trip to the castle.

Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. "

My other favorite verse is:

Jerimiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord , "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

God's blessing to each of you, my sisters.

Letter from the Lord

My Dear Child:

My love, I love you. (John 15:9).
I have called you by your name, you are mine. (Isaiah 43:1).
Before I formed you, I knew you. And before you were born, I consecrated you.
(Jeremiah 1:5).
You did not choose me, I chose you. (John 15:16).
Beloved, I wish above all things that you prosper and be in good health, even
as your soul prospers. (III John 2).

Because you are precious to me, and honored, I love you. (Isaiah 43:4).
I have loved you with an everlasting love and I will continue my Constant
love.
(Jeremiah 31:3).
How can I abandon you? My love for you is too strong. (Hosea 11:8).
I love you so much that I hung on the cross at Calvary. I died for you, and
if you believe in Me you will have everlasting life. (John 3:16).

Can a woman forget her own baby and not love the child she bore? Yet, even
should she forget, I will never forget you. I cannot forget you. See, I have
hold you in the palm of my hands. (Isaiah 49:15-16).
For I, the Lord your God, am holding you by the right hand. (Isaiah 41:13).
I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD. (Matthew 28:20).

Do not let your heart be troubled, trust in me. (John 14:1).
I will help you. (Isaiah 41:14). When you pass through the deep waters, I
will be with you.Your troubles will not overwhelm you. The hard trials that
will come will not hurt you. (Isaiah 43:2).
When you walk through the valley of the shadows of death, do not be afraid
because I am with you. My rod and my staff will comfort you. I will lead you
in the path of righteousness. (Psalms 23).

I will give you peace in the midst of a storm, not as the world giveth. Let
not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)
Peace I give which will pass all understanding and shall keep your heart and
mind. (Philippians 4:7).
When you lie down do not be afraid, your sleep shall be sweet. (Proverbs
3:24).
My love for you will keep your dwelling safe. (Psalm 4:8).

Beloved my eyes are upon you and I will give you hope, for I am merciful.
(Psalm 33:18)
You will have access to my grace and rejoice in hope while sharing in the
glory of my Father. (Romans 5:2).
I will give you joy and peace. The mountains and hills will sing, and the
trees will clasp their hands before you. (Isaiah 55:12)
You may have sorrow now , but I will see you again, and your heart will
rejoice and no one will take your joy from you. (John 16:22).

Do not worry (Luke 12:9)
Even the hairs of your head have all been counted, so there is no need to be
afraid of anything. (Matthew 10:30).
The mountains may depart and the hills will be shaken but my steadfast love
for you will never end. (John 54:10).
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you
rest. (Matthew 11:28).
Come, my love (Solomon 2:10).
Come, I will lead you into solitude and there I will speak tenderly to your
heart. I will be true and faithful. I will show you constant love and make
you mine forever. I will keep my promise, and you will really know me then as
never before. (Hosea 1:14,19-20).
I Am Who I Am. (Exodus 3:14).
I am the Lord your God. (Hosea 13:4).

Your Faithful Friend
Jesus

P.S. I Am the same yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8
