LSH consultation
Some questions that I did ask included:
*How much experience do you have (how many LSH have you done)?
*How many required converting to open surgery and why?
*What is your predicted recovery time (based on no complications)?
-How long will I be out of work
-How long will I be restricted from activities (driving, lifting, sports, exercise)
*What are the possible side effects or complications that might occur?
One question that I didn't ask (and may not be as important if you are getting some feedback from other HysterSisters here) was if I could talk to any former patients of his to hear their experience. I know that I am going to tell him that I would be willing to be contacted by any future patients of his if they want a "referral" so to speak.
It's definitely a wise idea to have all of your questions written down, because the time with your doctor goes so quick. I started jotting stuff down on a scratch-pad ahead of time, then typed it up to be organized the day I went in to talk to my doctor. He really seemed to appreciate the fact that I was taking an interest in my care, and was absolutely great about answering all of my questions.
Best of luck to you. As dressedupinblue said, it is an amazing surgery!
