discharge diagnose is bacterial infection

my test results came back today it turns out i have an infection, which makes me very angry because i told my doc assistant last week about a yellow discharge i've had for over a week and she said it's normal after the surgery to have one. well it instead of it being yellow, now it's brownish yellow and i have pain on my left side. so i finally went back to the doc office tuesday and told the nurse, she had me see another doc. mines was out of the office, this doc examined me and took a vaginal culture. Just glad i went back to the doc or else i would probably end up in the emergency room...smh

I can understand how frustrated you must feel that it took this long to be diagnosed. It's a good thing that you were tenacious. Did they give you an antibiotic to help clear it up? If so, you might want to take a probiotic or yogurt with it to help prevent a yeast infection.
