Counting Down The Hours

Having my surgery tomarrow at 10am. I wish it was all over with. I don't feel too awfully nervous surprisingly. I think I'm too busy worrying about drinking my GoLYTELY. I've just had my first glass and can't imagine drinking the whole container. I didn't even put a dent in it yet. I've also got my last visit from aunt flo happenin now. Lucky me!! I am doomed to cramps.
Well right now I can't wait till it's over and I can write to you as a full fledged experienced sister.
Talk to y'all soon. Time for another cup of cramps.

Micki.

Hi Friend!

I'm going in tomorrow at 6:00 a.m. (TAH) I'm going in there to take my stool softener. I'm having an E in the morning. Never had one before, certainly a new experience. Ha. I'm getting ready to see Flo any moment. I'm right there with you girl. Take a deep breath and know that we are going to be all right!

11 hours left

Ok ladies.. 11 hours left.

Im bored sitting here waiting. Didnt want to leave work, and have so much to do. I over did it the other day and had to be rushed to dr (thank heaven he was at his office nearest my home!!) The pain came hard and fast and am now thankful that this wont be around much longer. Btw for all of you who have a while to wait, Novicaine really DOES work well when your uterus is fighting you

I dont know what to do... I dont want to sit around for 2 weeks relaxing (nevermind 6!!) .. and my work told me I better not show up to do any sort of work until I have a dr's note of FULL release. They took everything away from me that was work related and ordered me to rest, relax and get better. I know it sounds dumb and whiney that im complaining, but HOW do you relax and just do nothing when you are one that cant sit around and do nothing?? I just want to go back to work, and have my life back as it was. I cried today because I wont have any more children... he laughed and reminded me I couldnt have more kids before this surgery... please help me im going NUTS!!

10.5 hours now... and counting

Hello Ladies,
I wish you the best of luck with your surgery and a speedy recovery. I'm not too far behind you. I go in July 14th. I'm having a LAVH possible TAH. I'm going to keep my ovaries providing nothing is wrong with them. I go in tomorrow for my pre-op blood work. Aunt Flo decided to go out with a BANG, thank goodness I never have to do that again. I'm going to have a tampon burning party.....want to come???LOL...........best of luck, Barkgar

Found a Great Prayer for Everyone

I'm just running around like a chicken, trying to stay busy! Pulled out the book: Illuminata by Marianne Williamson. Maybe this will help. I read a healing prayer through a couple of times and it seems to have calmed my nerves a bit! This might be a good prayer to say before you go to the castle. I love the casting out the impurities part!

Dear God,
As I rise up, I thank You for the opportunity to be on this earth.
I thank you for my mind and body.
I thank you for my life.
Please bless my body and use it for Your purposes.
May I rise up strong today, and may my body and soul radiate Your love.
May all impurities be cast out of my mind, my heart, my body.
May every cell of my being be filled with Your light.
May my body and mind both be illumined for Your sake and for the sake of the world.

Amen.

Counting Down The Hours

Hi fellow July 10th princesses. My surgery is tomorrow at 1pm. I'm not too nervous right now. It may seem silly but I'm more worried about being hungry and thirsty all day. It's suppose to be 105 degrees tomorrow. I wish surgery was early am but they do all their outpatient surgeries first. I'm having a TAH/BSO with midline incision due to uterus being SO large.
I'm sure I'll have trouble sleeping tonight and know I'll be awake at dawn and won't be able to sleep in.
I'm one of the "older ladies". I'll be 52 this month so hope recovery goes okay.
Good luck to the rest of you going in tomorrow and soon. See you on the other side.

Ladies Good Luck Tomorrow! I can tell you the waiting is the hardest part. I had mine exactly two weeks ago, and Lord am I happy I did so. The recovery isn't a cake walk but I can already feel the benefits.
I know what you are saying about the boredom during recovery but like you will hear over and over again you really only get one chance to heal properly, take advantage.
Good Luck!

Well Sweet _Mischief, I am certainly going to take advantage of the time after surgery and do what everyone says. REST, REST, REST. From what I have learned, we probably won't feel much like doing anything for a few days or weeks let alone going back to work, so, I don't think you always wanting to stay active is going to be a problem in the beginning. Take it easy and give yourself time to heal. Good Luck!

Rapunzel, I am also wondering about the age factor. I am 51.
