Two weeks to go and pain is worse then ever (child mentioned)

I am reading through all these posts and hearing of the same things I have been going through for years! I have been to an ostiopath to adjust my back for pain they did not know why I had it. I have been told the sharp pains I get during sex was migraines. I am having a LAVH and removing the right ovary because of cysts but I get more pain in the left side Ademyosis is what they say now after Lap procedures that found nothing. I just want January 18th to get here quick. I am going to be in the Castle on my Grandaughters 3rd b-day but I did not want to wait for anything and now with reading all this and hearing possibly no more back pain to boot! I guess I am just wondering how many others like me have thought this was all in thier heads or told so? Finally my Dh is understanding and is waiting for the all clear LOL. We took our normal New Years Eve snowmobile trip probably my only one this year and I tell you I had cramping all weekend and it gets worse with activity I used to walk to get rid of cramps it has not worked since I had a uteran biopsy noe nothing works except vicodin and I can not take it during the day as I drive a school bus my kids on the bus think I am moody hope I can get back to my normal self soon.

They tell you the moodiness is in your head...then they play with your hormones...then they put you on antidepresants because you are loosing your mind from the hormones...then there is the pill for the bleeding...then they say you can't possibly feel the pain...blah...blah...blah...for me to finally have everything taken care of is a blessing! Still not fully recovered, but I feel better (mind, body and soul) than I have since I had my first period! My back is finally starting to feel better also. Sex without pain, or bleeding....happy place... Figure I can actually go ice fishing this year and not have to worry about bathroom facilities.

Two weeks to go and pain is worse then ever (child mentioned)

Just wanted to say that I to had doubts prior to my TAH/BSO on November 20. Your situation sounds very much like mine I was in pain almost all the time, but the Drs could never give me a definite cause.
After years of living in pain I came to the conclusion that I had to do something. I literally felt like my quality of life(and my family) was suffering. I remember about 2 weeks prior to my surgery I felt really good and thought it was all and my head and that I was crazy to go thru with the surgery, then the pain came back with a vengence. I literally had the worst two weeks ever with pain and spotting and so on, up until the day I went to the castle.
I have just recently had my 6 week check up and am doing great. I feel so much better and know I made the right decision for me.
Just know this is a big decision you have made and it is human nature to have doubts. Its ok we all do that. I wish you speedy and uneventful recovery and many painfree years to come.

me too

HI....you are not alone. I suffered with pain for years. Took vicodin for 3 years and every day for a year just to get through the day. My first doctor told me it was endometrosis. My GP said it didn't act like endo cause I hurt every day. I could see in his eyes that he didn't believe me about the pain. He finally said maybe it was adenomyosis. Sono only showed a couple of small fibroids.

I went to 2 gynos that refused to prescribe pain meds. Finally after 4 visits, one of them did, but I think he still thought I was making it up.

After surgery, he told my husband that he couldn't believe how big my uterus was. I was severely anemic because of blood loss during my periods. You could see the sympathy in his eyes after surgery.

I am now 2 months post op. I FEEL GREAT. Like a new person. I have energy and almost no pain (just a little when I overdo it).

I know you will do as well as I have.

Two weeks to go and pain is worse then ever (child mentioned)

I feel your pain, friend. I have had my left ovary and tube removed due to "Softball sized" cyst, after being told for months (by a previous Dr.) that "it was a mental thing" and that I should "Try exercise and relaxation". My current physician is a blessing, he saw that I was suffering and that the pain and anxiety that accompanies it, is quite real. He was willing to do further testing, lab and sono's etc. He is the one who removed the L side. Unfortunately, it seamed that once I had the L removed, the right side began hurting far worse and I was found to have "recurring" cysts on the R. I am scheduled for a Complete Hysterectomy on February 8, 2008. If it wasn't for such a packed OR schedule, my Dr. would have already done the surgery in December. I too worry about the decision that has been made. Then I remember how hard it was to find a Dr. who could truly understand and really believed me in what I was going through. After he and my family and friends all examined this with me and the unanimous vote is "Do what it takes to feel better and be healthy Chrissie", I know in my heart that this is the best decision I could have made. I am terrified, don't get me wrong, although "logically" I know this is the right choice and know I have a great support system, emotionally, I couldn't want to run further away. One day at time, I tell myself. I look back over the past 10 years and see all the issues and troubles I have had and realize that it was just a matter of time. The entire line of women on my mother's side, from Great Gran to me have all had Complete Hysterectomy's by 30. I am 28 and just so thankful that I won't have to suffer another 2 (or more) years in such pain, discomfort and emotional distress. I know this all easily said, but not so easily believed, to tell you the truth, I still question it a bit myself. Just know that "This too shall pass" and the anxiety, with grace and good will, will dissipate. You are in my thoughts, friend.
