numb belly

Hi,
I had a total hyst on Aug 15th (3 months ago) and I still have a numb, kinda tingly feeling by my incesion area. My scar is from above my bellybutton all the way down. I still can't wear pants with zippers in the front as it is too irratating. I've heard that nerve damage takes awhile to heal. I wish I was back to 'normal'. I hope you heal quicker than I.

numb belly

I am 3 weeks post-op with a TAH and I was going to write in today about belly numbness and look what I found! I feel much better now reading these posts. My belly is quite numb, but almost painful at the same time which is strange. It is a bit hard as well, has anybody had that feeling?

I am 5 weeks post op and my thigh is also numb. It drives me nuts! The belly numbness doesn't bother me. It may go away, if not, I guess we have to live with it.
Sorry to hear about your experience Beller5. You gotta wonder just what the doctors are thinking?? I don't understand why she didn't remove your endometriosis? She probably didn't have time. Unbelievable!!

My incision and the area below it is numb, but I remember from my C-sections that the numbness went away slowly, and was gone about a year later. What I'm more worried about is the fact that the front of my left thigh is numb down to the knee. It doesn't hurt or tingle and there's no muscle weakness, it just feels like the skin is asleep. After surgery, my right thigh was numb too but that has cleared up already, so I'm pretty hopeful, but I've read that this kind of nerve damage can be permanent. Catsgreat, did you talk to your surgeon about this? I see mine on Friday and will have plenty of questions for her about it!

numb belly

I have areas of numbness and I had LAVH, so they didn't really cut alot of nerves, but from Past c-sections I remeber haing a numb belly for months. The nerves will wake up eventually, and usually in portions

Yes LMKD, and he said it may get better, it may not. It depends on the amount of nerve damage. I am sure hoping it does get better in time because I keep scratching my thigh and I can't feel it and am afraid I will rip the skin. Don't know why it itches, maybe it is all in my head or maybe it is the nerves growing back together??
