Just can't catch a break
I was up all night last night witha horrible headache and vomiting. I'm assuming its just a bug.
In a side note I'm still having gushes when I go to the bathroom. Its not blood colored but its a dark brown color. The doctor put silver nitrate and monsels on my cuff when I went in the other day and told me to expect some brownish discharge. I'm worried that the gush of fluid could still be blood but I can't tell because of the meds. The fact that it gushes at all makes me nervous. What do you ladies think?

Re: Just can't catch a break
I am so sorry you are going through all of this ♡ If I were you I would call the on call doctor or nurse and just tell them what you're experiencing if nothing else it will ease your mind. And I would let them know about the vomiting maybe they could call you in some zofran to get you feeling better. Keeping you in my thoughts (((hugs)))

I did this after my hysto and turned out I had a serious infection. I would consult your doctor to be sure you are expierencing the norm. It is different with every person. Sorry you have having issues.

Re: Just can't catch a break
I have zofran. I took it last night but it didn't help. I'll call the doctor tomorrow and let them know I'm still experiencing some gushing. The headache is starting again and is in the exact same spot.

Re: Just can't catch a break
Call the doctor NOW! Following a surgical procedure, NEVER assume you have the flu. Those symptoms could indicate a VERY serious complication is occurring such as a blood clot or blood in your stomach or lungs.
Don't take a chance--it really could be a life or death situation. To be safe, let your medical provider determine what is wrong.

Re: Just can't catch a break
The vomiting stopped last night. I do still have a headache but other than that I feel better. The headache is a little bothersome because its in one specific spot. I will call the doctor first thing in the morning. I somewhat think my pain pills made me throw up. I'll keep an eye on it. If I start vomiting again I promise to get checked out asap! Thank you ladies!

Re: Just can't catch a break
I don't mean to scare you, but if the reason for your symptoms is related to a blood clot, tomorrow could be too late.
We are not medical professionals and we can't evaluate you online. However, headache and vomiting are two post surgical symptoms that indicate you should call your doctor immediately.

Re: Just can't catch a break
Yes. When I was having chest pain last week I researched it quite thoroughly. In fact, patients can have blood clots post operatively as far as four months + out. Abdominal surgery is second only to joint surgery for incidence. I went in, got checked, found I had something else entirely, and was SO relieved. It is a huge hassle, but better than dying, right? call the doc office one more time, ask the nurse on call to ring you back, run it all down, and talk it through. That's what they are there to do, they should have nurses on call all night long just waiting to talk over interesting cases like this!
