12 Days to Surgery

I am having a vetical ab hyst on the 21st.
I am in totaly freak out mode. I have realized that I will wake up with the body of a menapausal woman in 12 days.
My live in boyfriend of 4 years is only worried about making life easy for him during my recovery and my darling mother is leaving for vacation the day of the surgery (What it was already booked she said)
I had 2 C Sections where I bled A LOT (4 transfusions the first time and 2 the second before I had a reaction)

Not really anything that can be said, I guess. Just sure I am not the only one - and you aren't either!

Re: 12 Days to Surgery

Well that seems to happen to a lot of ladies. I guess since you know, you can try to prepare in other ways. Mainly the 1st wk or 2 help would be nice. Can any other family or friend agree to help with laundry and meals? If not, plan ahead. Clean, freeze meals, set up a lounging zone. Get a reacher and consider a belly band. Get your loose clothes ready. Plan on paper plates. Figure how to carry laundry a piece at a time. Put things where you can reach them out of high cupboards. Get all the gaS X, bowel meds, and anti gas teas ready. Try to anticipate all your needs, read the section on recovering alone. Then say no to taking care of BF, he's an adult, he can manage. Give up a clean house for a while. And do ask for help from anyone you can think of, don't be shy and do be specific. I hope BF comes through and helps after all but you never know. Good luck, best wishes for the surgery and recovery.

Re: 12 Days to Surgery

Some really good advice - hadn't thought of paper plates (I am opposed, but will make an exception) and gas ex/teas.
Much appreciated.
